During the start of the Era of Mass Travel, there was a rush to create interesting experiences to attract tourism within galaxies, many of them were created in this area, as there was still plenty of territories available for cheap here
However, as much of the population started moving along with the New Opportunity programs set in the New Farming/Mining Settlements, many of these attractions soon ran out of money and a major economic crash followed
Many of the attractions are still run on a smaller scale, with only portions of the original plans still in service, and much of the rest of the infrastructure left to decay
This type of abandoned attraction is not exclusive to the area, however the amount of attractions like this has given the region this reputation
